Sarcasm is a formal affair
Tuesday, April 01, 2008
My law professor looks like Mr. Peanut. He relentlessly sports rimless specs and a three-piece suit to every class, and slices through my classmates' ill-conceived hubris with (now signature) sarcastic flair.* When he walks in the room, a small smattering of students orbit him, carrying his books and (what seems like) gallons and gallons of caffeine.
He's unmatched in his area of law.
I can't tell if he is someone to aspire to ... or a cautionary tale. It all depends on whether he is doing half of these things ironically.
* He teaches this course with another resume-saturated professor. They are a modern-day Scylla and Charybdis.
